Martin Halter Hawks North Lamar

Cade Martin homered, doubled and had 5 RBI and Jarret Halter pitched 6 2/3 innings allowing 1 run, 5 hits, striking out 9 and walking two. The result was a 10-1 Pleasant Grove Hawks win at Pose Long Field in Paris Tuesday against the North Lamar Panthers.

The surging Hawks had 13 hits. They didn’t commit any errors in the field behind Jarret Halter  Halter (8-0) was as advertised pitching lights out for PG.

Martin was 3-5, Halter was 1-for-3, Brenton Clark was 1-for-4 and JM Long was 3-for-four. Buck Anderson was 1-for2, Spencer Browning was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI , Ty Boozer was 1-for-2 with a double and 3 RBI and Jace Elrod was 1-for-three.

PG Hawks coach Riley Fincher said it all started with Jarret Halter

“It was a huge game for us. Any time you come over to Lamar County and play well it’s huge,” Riley Fincher the Pleasant Grove Hawks head baseball coach said.

“It all started on the mound with Jarret Halter, he threw great again today,” Coach Fincher said. “Offensively we sung it extremely well well and we played real good behind Halter in the field.

Pleasant Grove (17-4-1, 8-0) will play at the Pittsburg Pirates Friday at 7 p.m. The Hawks baseball games are broadcasted live on 94.1 FM ESPN-Texarkana.
