Pleasant Grove Hawk left handed pitcher Hunter Rose pitched his Pleasant Grove Hawks baseball team to a 3-0 win at Pittsburg Friday night. The game was played at the legendary Big Green Ballpark and hundreds were in attendance.

Rose (4-1) who is just a freshman pitched 6 and 2/3’s scoreless innings. He allowed only 3 hits, while striking out 8 and walking two.

Luke Flanagan got the save for the Hawks. Flanagan allowed 1 hit to the 3 batters he faced while allowing no runs.

The Hawks (19-4-1, 9-0) were led at the plate by Ty Boozer. Boozer was 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored. Cade Martin was 1-for-4 with and RBI. Jarret Halter was 1-for-4 with an RBI and run scored. Buck Anderson, another freshman was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Rose singled and scored a run.

Hawks head coach Riley Fincher couldn’t say enough about Rose

“It was a real good game and I can’t say enough about Hunter Rose,” Pleasant Grove Hawks head coach Riley Fincher said.” He came out and controlled the strike zone all game. We scratched a couple runs early and  then I thought we played real good in the field behind Hunter.

Next Up

Pleasant Grove’s next game will be at home against the Liberty-Eylau Leopards (19-3, 8-1) Tuesday evening at 6 p.m.
