
The Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks softball team defeated the Liberty-Eylau Lady Leopards 12-0 at Lady Hawk Field Friday in Texarkana. The game was called after 5 innings due to the 10-run-rule.
Sophomore Abby Runion pitched a shutout for PG. Runion allowed 4 hits in 5 innings. She struck out 5 and walked one.
The Lady Hawks had 11 hits. Adi Koller was 3-for-4 with 2 triples, a double, 5 RBI and 3 runs scored. Koller has 11 triples this season.
Mackenzie Williams popped off with going 1-for-3 with 2 runs. Runion was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs. Presley Humphrey was 1-for-one. Hailey Allen was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI. Addi Dial was 1-for-3 with and RBI and 3 runs scored.
PG Lady Hawks head coach Becca Collom was glad to see her girls bounce back.
“I was glad to see our girls bounce back and make adjustments,” Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks head softball coach Becca Collom said. “We squared up a lot of balls and made the plays in the field.
Coach Collom said the PG Girls were calm, cool and collect
“I thought we stayed calm and didn’t press when we had some bounces go against us,” Coach Collom said. “I’m very happy to see them push through and make things happen,” Becca Collom said.
