The Liberty-Eylau Leopards baseball team shutout the Paris Wildcats 6-0 at HE Markum Park Friday night in Texarkana.
Cal Jones was the winning pitcher for the Leopards. Jones started, pitched 5 scoreless innings allowing 3 hits, striking out 9 and walking none. Richie Plant pitched the final 2 innings allowing just 1 hit, striking out 3 and walking none.
WT Jones led the Leopards batting going 2-for-3 with a home run, double and 2 RBI.
LE head coach Zach Fowler said his pitchers were great
“Cal Jones and Richie Plant pitched a great game for us,” Zach Fowler, Liberty-Eylau Leopards head baseball coach said.” WT (Jones) had a big home run and we were able to play great defense behind our pitchers.”
Coach Fowler said it was a great team win and the Leopards were looking forward to getting back on the field Tuesday.
Liberty-Eylau (19-3, 8-1) will play first place Pleasant Grove (19-3-1, 9-0) Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at Hawks Field. the PG versus LE game will be broadcast live on 94.1 FM ESPN-Texarkana.
