
The Pleasant Grove Hawks baseball team put together a total team effort Tuesday at Hawk Field resulting in a 14-1 , 10-run-rule 5 inning win over visiting cross town rival Liberty-Eylau.
Pleasant Grove (19-4-1, 10-0) is now 2 games in first place ahead of second place LE in the district standings with 5 district games remaining.
The Hawks winning pitcher was sophomore Jarret Halter. Halter (9-0) did not allow an earned run.
Halter gave his teammates a lot of credit
“I just tried to fill up the strike zone and let my defense do their job like they always do,” Jarret Halter, Pleasant Grove winning pitcher said.
The Hawks had 12 hits. Brenton Clark was 2-for-3 with a grand slam home run and double. Hunter Rose hit a 3 run home run. Halter had a 2 RBI single. Buck Anderson was 1-for-one, Spencer Browning was 2-for-3 and Ty Boozer was 1-for-two.

“The bases were loaded and I knew we were up,” Brenton Clark said. “It was an inside fastball and there was 1 out and I was just trying to hit it to the outfield. He gave me a good ptich and I got my barrel out and it just kept carrying.”
Hawks head baseball coach Riley Fincher was said his Hawks are improving
“That team over there (Liberty-Eylau) is extremely well coached and very talented but I can’t say enough about our team and they’re improving every time they walk out on to the field and offensively tonight it was a hug night for us.
