
The Pleasant Grove Hawks Lady Hawks softball team defeated Paris 12-2 on senior night Tuesday at Lady Hawks Field. The game was called after the top of of the fifth due to the 10-run rule.
The win was a great way to celebrate the Lady Hawks seniors playing on the home field for the final time. The Lady Hawks seniors are Presley Humphrey, Adi Koller and Mackenzie Williams.
The Texarkana 3-Party had big night’s
The 3 seniors had big night’s at the plate. Williams was 3-for-3 with 3 RBI and a run. Koller was 1-for-3 with an RBI and 1 run. Presley was 2-for-4 with a double, 2 RBI and a run. Hailey Allen was 2-for-4 with a double with an RBI and 2 runs. Layla Sanders was 1-for-2 with 2 runs. Jack Smith was 1-for-2 with 1 RBI and 1 run. Adison Dial was 1-for-3 with 2 runs.
Abby Runion was the winning pitcher. Runion pitched 5 innings. She allowed 2 runs, striking out 3 and walking none.
Lady Hawks head coach Becca Collom said her girls took care of business
“I was proud of the girls for taking care of business. On the whole I thought they played well,” Becca Collom, Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks head coach said. “They stay calm and the course until we broke it open. I was glad to be able to take care of business for the seniors last hoorah.”
The PG girls played great
“They all three played great for their outing at home. Adi got a lot of traffic at short. She made great defensive plays and really showed off her range. I was glad to see the young kids get some confidence back in the box,” Becca Collom, the Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks head coach said. “Definite opportunity to fine tune things and get everyone rolling before playoffs.”
The Lady Hawks will play North Lamar Friday at Winnsboro around 8 p.m. to determine Playoff seeding.
