
The Pleasant Grove Hawks baseball team are the undisputed 2023 15-4A champions following Tuesday night’s 14-4 senior night win over Pittsburg at Hawks Field. The game was called in the bottom of the fifth inning because of the 10-run-rule.
Hawk seniors JM Long, Hunter Digby, Caleb McIntosh and Davis Coker were honored on the field before the game.
Luke Flanagan a right handed sophomore was the winning pithier for the Hawks. Flanagan (6-0) pitched 5 innings allowing only 1 earned run, on 2 hits while striking out 7 and walking nobody. Flanagan’s performance was dominating.
Long was 1-for-3 with a double, 2 RBI and 1 run. Cade Martin was 1-for-1 with a double, RBI and 1 run. Freshman Buck Anderson was 2-for-3 with a double, 1 RBI and 2 runs. Spencer Browning was 1-for-2 with a double and 2 runs. Ty Boozer was 1-for-1 with a triple, 2 RBI, and 3 runs.
Hawks head coach Riley Fincher said it was a great game
“It was a great game, Luke Flanagan threw extremely well ,we got to see a lot of guys play tonight and we swung the bats real well,” Riley Fincher Pleasant Grove head baseball coach said. “We’ll celebrate this one tonight, we’ll come back and work tomorrow to get ready for LE.”
