The Pleasant Grove Hawks mixed doubles team of Rose Anderson and Jack Humphrey were defeated at the state tournament in San Antonio, Tx., Wednesday bringing their Cinderella season to an end.
Anderson and Humphrey were defeated by Hereford (1-6 and 2-6).
Hawk tennis coach Erik Pickett said it was a great season
“We had a great spring season and results to be extremely proud of! Advancing to the state tournament just added a cherry on top extending our season and time together,” Pleasant Grove Hawks tennis coach Erik Pickett said. “We definitely had some chances in the match, just couldn’t quite capitalize on crucial points.”
Coach Pickett said PG’s time is coming
“Our takeaway from this experience is that we are so close in skill level to all of these teams, that we know our time is coming,” Coach Pickett said. “Even more incentive to keep at it.”
