The Liberty-Eylau Leopards held on for a 9-8 nail biter win over Paris Tuesday night at HE Markem Field in Texarkana.
Liberty-Eylau honored thier seniors on the field before the game. The Leopard seniors are Dylan Garton, Richie Plant, Cal Jones, Aydan Easter and Jaden “JD” Davis.
WT Jones was the winning pitcher for the Leopards. Jones pithced all 7 innings allowing only 1 earned run. Jones allowed only 3 hits, striking out 9 and walking one.
Defensively, LE committed 6 errors which kept the Wildcats in it till the end.

Cal Jones was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI and a run. Britain Pipes was 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and 3 runs. Dylan Nabors was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and a run. Easter was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
“Paris put up a great fight and played hard. They gave us all we could handle but our kids were able to fight hard and earn the victory,” Zach Fowler, Liberty-Eylau Leopards head baseball coach said. “Proud of the group of seniors and the program. We will get back to work and get ready for Friday.”
The Leopards are 12-2 in district and they’ve clinched second place behind un-defeated in district Pleasant Grove. Pleasant Grove will visit Liberty-Eylau Friday at 6 p.m. in the final district game for both teams.
