
The Linden-Kildare Tigers baseball team blasted Rivercrest 15-1 in their final district game Tuesday. The Tigers are now ready for the playoffs.
The Tigers had a 9 run sixth inning to seal the game after 6 innings due to the 1–run-rule.
The offensive onslaught by Linden-Kildare Tigers Varsity was led by Trey Phillips, Maysen Lemmon, Keegan Surratt, Peyton Foreman, Tae’Shun Mitchell, and Kyler Fitts, all driving in runs in the big sixth inning.
Linden-Kildare Tigers Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning, when Phillips singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Linden-Kildare Tigers Varsity scored nine runs in the sixth inning. The rally was led by singles by Phillips, Foreman, and Mitchell, doubles by Fitts and Logan Hankins, by Surratt, and an error on a ball put in play by Lemmon.

Phillips earned the victory on the mound for Linden-Kildare Tigers Varsity. The righty surrendered one run on four hits over six innings, striking out six and walking zero.
Grider took the loss for Rivercrest. The hurler lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out three.
Linden-Kildare Tigers Varsity totaled 12 hits in the game. Foreman, Hankins, Lemmon, and Phillips each collected multiple hits for Linden-Kildare Tigers Varsity. Foreman led Linden-Kildare Tigers Varsity with three hits in four at bats.

Linden-Kildare’s win over Rivercrest tied the Tigers for 3rd as they went 6-1 the second round of district.
Tigers coach Sean Basking said there’s lots to be excited about
“The 3 seniors Kyler fitts, Trey Phillips, Tae’shun Mitchell really stepped up tonight,” Linden-Kildare Tigers head coach Sean Baskin said. I’m proud of the way our kids Competed and gave it their all. They played one of their best games all year against a very tough Rivercrest team.”

Coach Baskin said negotiations are underway with Ore City to decide how to settle the third place tie and playoff seating.
