The Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks softball team won the Bi-District championship by sweeping Brownsboro 2-games-to none.

The Lady Hawks defeated Brownsboro 13-12 in game 1 and followed that with a decisive 8-1 win in game 2 which started 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.

Abby Runion and Sarah Hackleman both pitched in game one. Hackleman pitched the entire 7 innings  game in game two.

“I was incredibly proud of the girls. We had to overcome an unfortunate situation with the weather. First getting delayed on Friday and then having to finish the last half inning in the rain. However they accepted the challenge and bowed up to finish,” Becca Collom, Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks head softball coach said. “After that finish, they did that great job of cutting their momentum and starting fresh. They didn’t press just allowed the game to flow and take opportunities.”

The Lady Hawks had great at bats

“We had a lot of hard barrel ups and quality at bats. Very proud of our defense for making tough plays behind our pitchers diving gap grab from Hailey Allen in centerfield, range plays up the middle and 5/6 hole from Adi Koller. Great defensive tags by Jacklynn Smith at the plate from the relay of Hailey and Adi to cut a runner down,” Coach Collom said.
Coach Collom was excites to see Humphrey’s home run in game 2
“Humphrey smashed a solo shot for an insurance run in the 2nd game today (Saturday),” Coach said. “Overall super proud of the girls for being flexible and resilient.”
