
The Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks softball team won the Bi-District championship by sweeping Brownsboro 2-games-to none.
Game 1 of the series was started in Winnsboro Friday but was postponed because of lightning and rain. The game concluded on Saturday in Tatum. The Lady Hawks defeated Brownsboro 13-12 in game 1 and followed that with a decisive 8-1 win in game 2 which started 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
Abby Runion and Sarah Hackleman both pitched in game one. Hackleman pitched the entire 7 innings game in game two.
Presley Humphrey hit 2 bombs
Hawk senior Presley Humphrey hit a home run in each game to help lead her team to the series win.
In game 1
In game 1 the Pleasant Grove’s Adi Koller led the Lady Hawks by going 3-3 with a triple an RBI and 4 runs scored. Mackenzie Williams was 1-for-5 with an RBI and 2 runs, Runion was 2-for-5 with 5 RBI and a run. Kasidy Ingram was 2-for-3 with a double and 2 runs, Addi Dial was 2-for-4 with 2 runs and Jacklynn Smith was 1-for-three. Humphrey was 1-for-3 with her homer and she had 2 RBI and 2 runs.
In game 2
In game 2 the Lady Hawks had 16 hits including Humphrey’s home run. Williams, Koller, Runion, Humphrey, Hailey Allen, and Smith each had 2 hits. Hackleman, Ingram, Taylor Breiby and Dial each had 1 hit a piece.
