
The Arkansas High Razorbacks baseball team defeated the Vilonia Eagles 8-7 Friday in the first round of the State tournament in Marion, Ark.
The Hogs used 3 pitchers, Trey White, Jonathan Garcia and Ty Waid. Garcia pitched most of the game. White started and pitched 2/3’s of an inning and giving up 3 runs. Garcia gave up 4 runs and Waid closed the game pitching 2 scoreless innings and allowing no hits.
Waid pitched lights out.
Waid struck out 4 and walked nobody.
Waid also brought the metal
Waid hit a home run for the Hogs and was 2-for-3 at the plate with 2 RBI.
Luke Paxton was 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI. Jackson Shipp hit a double.
Razrobacks Coach Trent Wilson said his Hogs are tough
“Our kids showed unbelievable toughness against a scrappy and well coached Vilonia team,” Trent Wilson, Arkansas High Razorbacks head baseball coach said . “Extremely proud of our guys. We’re looking forward to the opportunity to compete in the state quarterfinals.”
The Razorbacks will play Batesville Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
