The Liberty-Eylau Leopards baseball team outscored the Canton Eagles 19-15 Saturday in the third and deciding game of the area playoffs. The game was played in Winnsboro, Tx.

Both teams used several pitchers who combined for 19 total walks. However, the Leopards drew 3 more base on balls than Canton and added 10 hits which was enough to push in 4 more runs than Canton. The Leopards are the area champions.

Triston Hough and WT Jones led the Leopard batters. Hough was 2-for-4 with a double and 4 RBI. WT Jones was 3-for-4 with a triple, double and 3 RBI. Britain Pipes was 1-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI. Collin Evans was 1-for-3 with 2 RBI. Dylan Nabors was 1-for-3 with 2 RBI.

LE Zach Fowler said it was like riding a roller coaster

“One of the most up and down roller coaster ride of a game I’ve ever experienced, Zach Fowler, Liberty-Eylau Leopard head baseball coach said. ” Our kids fought through a lot and found a way to win.”
Coach Fowler said that his team is excited to play another week. The Leopards will play the Brownsboro Bears in the regional quarterfinals in  a 3-game series.

Game 1- Friday, May 19 @ Winnsboro High School 6 p.m.
Game 2-Saturday, May 20 @ Marshall 2 p.m.
Game 3 (if necessary)- 30 minutes after Game 2
LE is visiting team game 1 and the home team for game 2
Gate: 3$ students, 5$ adult. All passes accepted.
