Hawks Lindale regional quarterfinal

The Pleasant Grove Hawks baseball team beat the Lindale Tigers 12-3 Thursday night to take a 1-game-to-o lead in the regional quarterfinal 3-game series. The game was played at ETBU Tigers-Woods Field in Marshall , Tx.

The Tigers took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the fist inning when Kaden Fleming led off the game with a home run. However, the Hawks bounced back scoring in every inning but the 4th for the win.

Hawks sophomore Jarret Halter (12-0) was the  wining pitcher for the Hawks. Halter pitched all 7 innings allowing just 4 hits while striking out 7 and walking three.

The Hawks (28-5-1) were led at the plate by Brenton Clark who was 2-for-4 with a triple, double, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Halter was 1-for-3 with 2 RBI and a run. JM Long was 1-for-1 with 2 runs. Cade Martin was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run. Buck Anderson was 1-for-3 with a triple , 2 RBI and a run. Jace Elrod was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run.

Hawks head coach Riley Fincher was happy with his team’s pitching and offense

“It was a huge win for us. That was 2 real good teams competing really hard,” Riley Fincher, Pleasant Grove Hawks head baseball coach said. “I can’t say enough about Halter and our offense.

Fincher said the Hawks had  some stuff they have to clean up for Friday but  he’s looking forward to it.

The Hawks and Tigers will play game 2 of their series Friday at 7:30 p.m. the game will be broadcast live on 94.1 FM ESPN-Texarkana.
