The Pleasant Grove Hawks trounced the Lindale Eagles 17-0 Friday at ETBU in Marshall, Tx. Pleasant Grove advanced to the regional semi-finals where they will play Celina.

The Hawks swept Lindale 2-games-to-none.

Freshman Hunter Rose was the winning pitcher for the Hawks who scored 13 runs in the first inning of the game that was called after 5-innings due to the 10-run rule.

Rose (8-1) pitched the first 3 innings allowing no runs, 2 hits, striking out 3 and walking one. Sophomore Luke Flanagan pitched the 4th inning and senior Hunter Digby pitched the final inning.

Pleasant Grove had 9 hits in the game and played sparkling defense committing no errors.

Brenton Clark the Hawks lead off batter was 1-for-3 with an RBI and 2 runs. JM Long was 2-for-4 with a double, 3 RBI and 3 runs. Rose was 1-for-3 with 2 runs. Buck Anderson was 1-for-1 with 2 runs. Ty Boozer was 1-for-2 with a run and RBI. Jace Elrod was 1-for-3 with a run. Jarret Halter and Spencer Browning each scored 2 runs.

“It was a huge win and a huge series win,” Riley Fincher the head coach of the Pleasant Grove Hawks baseball team said after the game.” Our guys responded great today after Thursday nights game; they came back. It was a huge start for us in the first inning and they continued to compete every single pitch.”
