
The Liberty-Eylau Leopards beat the Brownsboro Bears 5-4 Saturday in game 2 of the regional quarterfinals, sweeping the series 2-games to none.
The Leopards advanced to round 4 of the 4A high school baseball playoffs. Saturday’s game was played in Marshall,Tx.
The Leopards are moving on to the regional semifinals where they’ll play the Aubrey Chaparrals.
Cal Jones was the winning pitcher for the Leopards. He pitched the complete 7 inning game allowing 4 runs (3 earned), 7 hits, walking 1 and striking out five. Cal was also 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and 2 RBI.
Leopards head baseball coach Zach Fowler has a great program
“We are headed to the 4th round or better for the 3rd year in a row,” Zach Fowler, the Liberty-Eylau Leopards head baseball coach said. “It is a testament to our kids and our program.”

Coach Folwler said he’s proud of the Jones boy’s (Cal and W.T.) performance on the mound in the two games in this series.
“We also saw some big time hits throughout the lineup over the course of the series,” Coach Fowler said. “We are excited to be able to spend another week together.”
