HOT SPRINGS, Ar. — Fort Smith and Greenwood are in the driver’s seat at the Arkansas American Legion AAA State Baseball tournament at Majestic Park. Texarkana is still alive.

Fort Smith is the only unbeaten team in Pool D after rallying past Texarkana, 7-3. North Little Rock rebounded from Thursday’s 12-0 loss to Fort Smith to beat Russellville, 5-3.

In Pool C Arkadephia stunned Lake Hamilton, 6-4. Greenwood remained unbeaten with a surprisingly easy 8-1 win over Bryant.

Razorbacks longshots to advance

Texarkana can still capture a share of second place by defeating North Little Rock, if Fort Smith beats Russellville. The Razorbacks need to 10-run rule NLR to have a chance.

The Razorbacks play NLR at 5 p.m. Saturday. Fort Smith and Russellville collide at noon.

Lake Hamilton plays Bryant at 7:30 p.m. The winner of the 2:30 p.m. game between Greenwood and Arkadelphia will advance to Sunday’s bracket play at UCA in Conway.
