The Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks Volleyball Team defeated Rudder-Bryan 2-sets-to-1 (25-17, 18-25, 25-16 ) Saturday in the championship match in the Tyler, Tx.
Pleasant Grove was crowned tounament Champions, bettering a field of 32 real good teams. The Lady Hawks (8-1) won all 8 games played in the tounament by a combined record of 16 sets to two.
The Lady Hawks were led in the championship win by Ellis Miller “the Killer” who had 8 kills. Senior Whitney Thornton had 13 assists, Julianne Naples had 12 assists and Abby Runion and Rylie Williams had 15 digs each.
Madison “MC Hammer” Carpenter & Miller “the Killer” both made the all tournament team.
Pleasant Grove’s Coach Collvins was proud
“This was a huge weekend for us growing and gelling together, “ Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks Head Volleyball Coach said. “I’m so proud of the effort this team gives every time they step foot on the court.”
The Lady Hawks will try to extend their 8-game winning streak Tuesday when they play 2 games in the Longview White Oak Tournament
