
A Bowie County Sheriff’s Lieutenant was arrested Tuesday August 8th and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury-Family Violence, the Bowie County Sheriffs Office said.
Authorities said Lieutenant Scott Lillis was arrested by Texarkana, Texas Police after an alleged family disturbance. The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office said that Lillis has been placed on administrative leave pending their own investigation.
Lieutenant Scott Lillis was severely injured while working for the Sheriff’s department over a year ago and his return to duty was well documented in the media.
“We can never truly express our gratitude for the outpouring of support from our community during that time,” The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

“The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office does not excuse the actions of Lieutenant Scott Lillis or allegations against him. We simply offer our sincere support for him and his wife, the press release said.
