Car Thieves Caught in Texarkana Neighborhood


Car thieves were caught recently fleeing into a Texarkana neighborhood.


Texarkana Texas police arrested Dakota Arnold and Chad Freitas for several charges. This after they allegedly wrecked a stolen car on Richmond Road. Officers  were dispatched to the report of a stolen blue BMW on Gin Road. The driver immediately took off when the officers turned around to stop them. They made it a few blocks before they wrecked out in front of a church at Airline Drive


According to police both occupants of the vehicle took off running through a cemetery. A witness saw Arnold trying to get into the back yard of a house on Jan Circle. He was witnessed ripping off the boards of the privacy fence. The homeowner called 911 to report that someone was in their back yard and had run off after he was confronted.

Shortly after that, Officers Ben Thomes and Marshall Gooding found Arnold hiding under a truck parked a few houses down. Freitas was found a few minutes later laying behind a bush in the cemetery. Both were taken into custody without incident and taken to the Bi-State Jail.

The alleged car thieves were charged with Unauthorized Use of Vehicle, Evading Arrest, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Arnold was also charged with Criminal Mischief due to the damage that he did the privacy fence trying to get into the yard.
