College Signing Day big for PG. Five student athletes signed to continue their athletic careers on Wednesday.
Coaches, administration, family and friends were on hand to congratulate them on their post-secondary plans.
Seth Hopkins signed to play baseball at Seminole College in Oklahoma. Avery Jensen is going to play womens soccer at Hendrix College in Arkansas. James Wiggins signed to play football at Louisiana College. Kamron Woods will also continue his football career at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas. Finally, Garrett Young signed to play basketball at the University of Dallas.
Pleasant Grove Athletic Director Josh Gibson says, “This is an exciting time for our school and especially our athletes. These young men and women have accomplished a goal that very few obtain. I want to thank each one of them for representing our school and community in exemplary fashion. I’m confident each student-athlete will make an impact on their new teams,new schools, and communities. We wish them the best!
Numerous Hawk athletes have received offers to other universities. The Hawks recently completed their football season as State-Champion runner-up. The Hawks also hold the current district titles in Volleyball, girls basketball, Golf, Tennis, and Cross Country.
