Friends College (2-9) took advantage of five walks in the early innings Friday to salvage a split in the nightcap with Texas A&M University Texarkana, 3-2.

The Falcons built a 3-0 cushion in the second game with the help of the free passes issued by right-hander Caleb Baker.

Texarkana (4-2) made a game of it in the fourth on a two-run single by Cole Chambers.

Austin Eggleston went the distance on the mound for the winners. He scattered six hits, walked one and struck out seven in his shutout win.
