TEXARKANA, Texas – Amachi Vision Corps Inc., a nonprofit whose mission is to empower youth while helping to rebuild communities, will host the 18th Annual Hometown NFL Weekend, June 20-22, 2019, with a Celebrity Basketball Camp, the Byron Williams’ 25th Annual Football Camp featuring the Texas Wesleyan University Football Combine and Cheer Camp, and more.

The Event kicks off with a FREE Celebrity Basketball Camp led by Texarkana’s own, Coach/Trainer Michael McGhee, 10AM at Texas Middle School for students K – 12th grade (FREE).

The next day, June 21st, a day of leisurely Golf, 8AM at Texarkana Golf Ranch. Later that evening fun for everyone; it is Friday Night Lights, 7PM at Texas Middle School, aimed to bring awareness to youth development and community, showcasing colleges, sports clubs, vendors, food, fun, and more (Entry$1).

All sports clubs/associations, venues, and sponsors are invited out to exhibit and network with the community and the Hometown NFL/Celebrity Weekend guest. (Vendor booths only $25).

Rounding out the Weekend with the Byron Williams’ 25th Annual Football Camp, 8AM at Texas High’s Multipurpose Building, for students 2nd – 8th grade (FREE); and featuring for the 1st time Texas Wesleyan University’s High School Football Combine, 12PM at Texas High’s Multipurpose Building.

The Combine is designed to give current high school players the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents in position-specific drills, 1-on-1’s, and to gain objective testing results from a recognized & trusted source. All players will be given the option of whether they would like to have their test results published in our database and sent to a college program. ($30 in advance $40 on-site)

Celebrity Cheer Camp directed by the Texas Wesleyan University Gold Line, 9AM at Texas Middle School, for students K–12th grade (FREE)

Amachi Vision Corp, Inc. is committed to developing youth and community programs that simultaneously address core issues facing low-income communities. Any and all proceeds will go toward the re-opening of the Beverly Community Center, a safe haven that will motivate youth to cultivate skills and enrich learning.
