Liberty Eylau’s Howard Barron signs on to play basketball at ETBU

Howard Barron, graduate in the class of 2019 at Liberty-Eylau High School in Texarkana, Tx., signed a letter accepting a scholarship to play basketball at East Texas Baptist University (ETBU) in Marshall, Tx.

Mr. Barron signed his commitment letter in the Liberty-Eylau High School Library Monday afternoon in front of family, friends, and faculty including his head basketball coach at LE, Stasik Vaughn.

“I’m proud of you, my #1 soignee,” Coach Vaughn said to Barron. “You’re my first one to sign and if you need anything I’ll be right here.”

“Howard Barron has always been a kid that’s done everything he’s ever been asked,” Kendrick Smith, principal of Liberty-Eylau said. “He’s a hard worker, leader on campus, trainer on the football team and he has a job at J.C. Penny.”

“I’m proud of you . Keep pushing forward,” Howard’s mother Patricia Barron said. “Look at GOD, he’s a good GOD. Look what he’s instilled in you.”
