Murder suspect turns himself in to authorities in Texarkana.
Texarkana Texas Police say a nephew, accused of shooting to death his uncle with a rifle, has turned himself.
Authorities had been looking for 23 year old Melchor Antonio Labrada Hernandez in connection with the incident.
Authorities allege he shot and killed 30 year old Antonio Labrada. This happened outside a residence on Summerhill Road early Saturday.
Officers were dispatched to the report of a shooting at the Summerhill Road home at 12:20 on Saturday morning. Officers found Labrada laying in the front yard with a single gunshot wound to the chest. He was not breathing at that point. CPR efforts were not successful.
According to witnesses, Labrada drove to the location after a telephone argument over money with Hernandez. When Labrada arrived, he and Hernandez fought in the front yard. After
others were able to break up the fight, Labrada began walking away toward his vehicle.
Meanwhile, witnesses add that Hernandez retrieved a rifle and shot Labrada one time.
Hernandez fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and located a .22 caliber rifle. Authorities believe it to be the weapon used by Hernandez. An arrest warrant for Murder was issued for Hernandez. The suspect turned himself in to authorities at thwe Bi-State Justice Center.
