PG Education Foundation gives nearly $60K

TEXARKANA — The Pleasant Grove Education Foundation announced Tuesday the granting of $59,732.21 in the Great Grant Giveaway.

The funds from a total of 19 grants will go towards technology and new learning materials for classrooms from Pre-K to high school and impacting art, science, special ed, and language arts.

“We are so fortunate to have incredible community support for the Foundation,” said Education Foundation
President Mark Damron. “It is through these partnerships that we were able to distribute our
record dollar amount of funding to the district, and we are very grateful.”

The money was a result of fundraising throughout the year with a variety of donor campaigns, including Hawk Hustle and Culinary Uncorked. According to the PG Education Foundation, every dollar raised goes back directly into the district of the goal “of providing teachers with the tools they need to provide students with a high quality
education.”

Since the foundation’s 2007 inception, they have provided over 120 grants to teachers, including over 300 chromebooks, 67 document cameras, 60 ipads, and 52 interactive wireless
tablets. Over $12,000 in scholarships have also been awarded.
