Two dead after Ruston, LA tornado
RUSTON, La. – UPDATE: Lincoln Parish Sheriff Mike Stone has confirmed two people died following a Thursday morning tornado.

Sources through The NewsStar say Lincoln Parish Sheriff Mike Stone said the two people died in a house near the Pizza Hut restaurant just off of Interstate 20. Emergency personnel has not been able to recover their bodies because it’s too dangerous.

Ruston Mayor confirms two deaths

KTVE in Monroe said, La reports the Ruston Mayor Ronny Walker has confirmed two people have died after tornadoes hit the area overnight.

There is no word yet on the identity of the two who died or if anyone else was injured.

Lincoln Parish Sheriff Mike Stone has confirmed two people died following a Thursday morning tornado. 

The tornado caused power outages across the city and damage along I-20 and Highway 167. A gas station in Sanford was also hit on Frontage Rd.

LA Tech is assessing damage on their campus

“As the sun comes up, we are continuing to assess damage on campus,” an LA Tech spokesman said.
They said campus is closed today. “We will make the call on tomorrow as soon as possible today,” LA Tech said.
Several buildings at LA Tech has no power, and trees and power lines are still down in many places.
“All our students on campus are safe. It might be a bit hard to reach students on their cell phones because of the number of calls right now,” LA Tech announced.
